This blog is designed by Anastasia Tarmann Lynch, Federal Documents Librarian at the Alaska State Library, to facilitate networking and public access to government information.
The purpose of this blog is to provide a forum for discussions and collaborative work on digital preservation options, documents promotion, and increasing public awareness and participation in government through education and access to government information.
It's a place for posting presentations, linking to resources that public libraries, the public at large, and state employees can use, highlighting our collections, and shining the spotlight on government information and activities in the news or on websites with news about the government. Examples: Open the Government's post on the farm bill foi issue or the definition of "privacy" under the law as reported by news sources.
The primary audience for this blog is Alaska Depositories, Government Documents Roundtable members, Alaska Libraries Association members and anyone interested in public access to government documents.
The blog is intended to be a useful and vital resource within the scope of purpose outlined above.
